After moving into our new home, we discovered a huge white grapefruit tree on the side of our house. I’ve been searching for the perfect way to use our grapefruits ever since — and this past weekend it finally hit me — fresh grapefruit rosé spritzers! I’ve recently been on a rosé kick, especially after our trip to Napa. So one afternoon I tested out and played with a few cocktail recipes, until I created my own with the perfect balance of grapefruit & rosé. I made it the following weekend when we hosted a few friends for drinks and appetizers. Here’s to inspiring you to host your own gathering for friends!
Every year, I look forward to packing up my winter clothes and bringing out my cotton sundresses, off-the-shoulder tops, linen button downs, and swing skirts! On a warm and sunny day last week, I rode my bike to J.McLaughlin for a little spring shopping to give my closet a little refresh. I typically gravitate towards the color blue, so I immediately fell in love with this off-the-shoulder dress. I love how there’s a tie around the waist with matching ties on the sleeves. You can always count on J.McLaughlin for beautiful details. I also picked up their circular wicker bag to add some texture to the dress. This bag is bigger than you think! We ended up filling it with grapefruits to bring into the kitchen! If you wanted to add a pop of color, tie a square silk scarf to the handles for an added touch.
I was fully equipped for our party with grapefruit rosé spritzers and a fun springtime dress. I included the recipe for the spritzers below. The best part about this drink is that you can prepare it ahead of time, pour it into a pitcher and keep it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve it. I used our tall, slender glasses, then poured the drink over ice and garnished it with rosemary and a slice of grapefruit.
