Step into Spring with J.McLaughlin

Spring Fashion with J.McLaughlin

The gardens, waterfront, pecan orchards and history are just a few highlights of the Musgrove Plantation that make it the perfect backdrop for both weddings and private parties. The 1200 acre estate was originally built in the 1930s and included 6 houses, gardens and mazes, swimming pools, and a lake. The plantation is most well known for its gorgeous scenery on the marsh, and of course, the oversized oak trees that are draped in spanish moss. Since it’s practically in my backyard (off Frederica road in St. Simons Island, GA), I’ve been dreaming of shooting a story at the plantation for awhile! It’s also the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon with my dog, Gracie.

I’ve teamed up with J.McLaughlin–which features classic yet relevant apparel and accessories for men and women–to style the perfect daytime outfit. I’ve always loved the sharp look of linen button down shirts, so I paired their sky blue Bristol Linen Shirt with their navy Pom Pom Shorts (which are super cozy). Afternoons here can still be chilly, so I chose a three quarter length shirt and the Reed Wool Scarf in Neo Alexi Brocade for some added some warmth. The Jill Tote added just the right amount of texture to my outfit. The Bristol Linen Shirt is a great staple to have in a wardrobe since it’s so versatile, and would even look great untucked with a pair of white denim jeans, like the Lexi Knit Jean. This could be paired with the Blue Portrait Linen Norwich Leaves Scarf. You can finish the look with the classic Bernice Leather Saddle Bag! Gracie also wanted to dress up for the shoot, so she modeled a beautiful blue + green floral collar c/o The Vine Garden Market.
