Fashion Inspiration for Summer

Earlier this week, I featured a Mini Guide to Jekyll Island, Georgia. For my Island getaway, I collaborated with the Cloister Collection to style three different looks for my trip. The Cloister Collection is known for carrying a great Lilly Pulitzer selection, but they also sell other brands such as Mara Hoffman, MuMu, Free People, AG Jeans and Trina Turk. Here's one of my favorite looks that I wore to the Rah Bar at Latitude 31º. The blouse was perfect for the breezy evening and I loved the coral cross-body purse that added a solid pop of color. I paired the print blouse with crisp white pants from JCrew Factory. *This post is in collaboration with Cloister Collection. Opinions are 100% my own.  Photography | Elle Smith Photography

What to Do, See and Eat in Jekyll Island

Warm temperatures and sunny skies just beg for quick getaways! A few weeks ago, I took a trip to Jekyll Island, Georgia. In the late 1800’s, Jekyll Island became an exclusive winter retreat for America’s most elite families. Do the names Rockefellers, Morgans, and Pulitzers ring a bell? They retreated to Jekyll Island for more than a half of century. When you visit Jekyll Island, you’ll be sure to share their appreciation for this enchanted place. Jekyll Island is a beautiful tranquil island that has a water view in almost every direction. The bike trails that meander throughout the island allow you to pack a lunch and explore from one end of the island to the other. The elegant & historic grounds at the Jekyll Island Hotel also make you feel like you are right where…

The 141st running of the Kentucky Derby will be steeped in tradition, from the sipping of the classic Mint Juleps to the over-the-top hats that are a must in women's fashion. Here are some Derby fashion + style tips: Choose a hat that you feel comfortable in. Keep in mind, a hat is only comfortable if it does not need continual adjustments. To keep the hat in place, use hat pins or sizers (padded bands that fit inside the rim) for a better fit. Your hat should sit 1-2 inches above your ears. If you're going to be in the sun for most of the race, I'd recommend a wide brim hat to provide some shade for your face. You don't want to be squinting when the horses are coming around the corner! Gentleman must…

Last week, my friends and I headed to Charleston, South Carolina for a quick girls getaway. We planned our stay around the Charleston Fashion Week (CHSFW). CHSFW has fast become one of the premier fashion weeks in North America since its founding in 2007. It's an event that I always love to attend! We started our night by heading over to the Tease Dry Bar located on King Street to get our hair + makeup done! I highly recommend this blow out bar especially before going to a big event. It was so nice to not have to worry about doing our own hair + makeup and gave us more time to relax and catch up with each other. We left feeling pampered! For our outfits, I turned to Ginny Clark from the Tibi Outlet…
