Working from home can have its challenges. My tail wagging and attention grabbing pups can be a major distraction to my work flow. Getting away from my home office has become a routine part of my work week. About three to four times a week, I take my work and head to a different location. I have found this to be key in maintaining a successful work from home arrangement. By getting out and interacting with other humans in a new environment, my creativity is sharpened and I’m more productive.
Luckily the folks at Wake Up are understanding and always have the perfect table ready for me and the other regulars that pop into the shop. There is nothing like opening up my laptop and sipping my vanilla chai latte. I am also a big fan of their granola, yogurt parfaits and blueberry muffins that happen to be THE best in town. When I have a sweet tooth their chocolate chip cookies and caramel cake are easy and delicious picks.
I love supporting local businesses especially when the owners and the employees are great people. Wake Up serves only certified Fair Trade or direct relationship coffees, teas and retail goods made by artisans and farmers in developing countries. Fair Trade certification ensures Wake Up customers that their products are produced, sold, and distributed ethically.
