Bedding Refresh with Garnet Hill

Marrakesh Organic Cotton Sheets

Is anyone else itching to visit Morocco? Everywhere I turn on social media I see picturesque scenes of Morocco on everyone’s feed but mine! I won’t be hopping on a plane to Morocco anytime soon so I brought in their beautiful geometric patterns with my new sheet set from Garnet Hill. The sheets are organic cotton — making them especially soft! With Thanksgiving right around the corner, I’m giving my guest bedrooms a little TLC! Today I’m sharing three ways that I’m prepping my guest room for the big family visit, and my love of these Moroccan inspired sheets gave me the extra push I needed!

One: Refresh Your Sheets + Bedding. Everyone appreciates comfy sheets so this was my first step in getting the guest room ready! If you follow me on Instagram then you know that I really love white — white walls, a white duvet cover, white tile and so on. So I thought that I would break up the white with a really fun print sheet set, such as this geometric print inspired by the Spice Markets in Morocco. I love how it pops against my duvet cover and I know that my guests will love them, too!

Two: Add Life with Plants. If your guest room (or any room) feels like it’s missing something, it’s likely that a plant or indoor tree is the answer. It’s a great way to add a pop of color and fill an empty space. I have a handful of (easy maintenance) indoor plants around my home — in my office, entryway, coffee tables and guest bedrooms. And to add a bit of texture, put the plan in a rattan or wicker basket.

Three: Set Out A Good Book To Read. So we’re wired to think of books as decor pieces, stack a few and place a vase on top and your nightstand is Pinterest-worthy! However, I really like to put a book next to the bed that I’d recommend — it’s a great conversation starter! One book that I’m reading right now is Chasing Slow by Erin Loechner. It’s the perfect read if you’re trying to figure out a great work life balance — so how could this not relate to everyone?! I met the author at The Southern C Retreat and I especially loved her stories. You can purchase it on Amazon — if you’re looking for an easy + quick read, I’d recommend it!

I’d love to know how you prep your home for holiday visits from family and friends! Let me know in the comments below!
