My Puerto Rican Getaway

Jet to Puerto Rico with JetBlue Vacations

This Post is in Partnership with JetBlue Vacations.

I’m so excited to share my recent trip to Puerto Rico with you! I really needed this long weekend getaway that was all about relaxing, enjoying the crystal clear water, and drinking frozen margaritas by the beach. Personally, traveling is the best way for me to recharge. Experiencing new cities and cultures is a wonderful way to practice being present in the moment. So Kelli Boyd, with Kelli Boyd Photography and I were thrilled to team up with JetBlue Vacations for a Puerto Rican summer getaway!

This was my first trip to Puerto Rico and I ABSOLUTELY loved it! So much so that I’m thinking about booking another JetBlue Vacations trip to PR for my sister’s bachelorette weekend. One of the highlights of this tropical vacation was the exquisite El San Juan Hotel. Since the 1950s, the property has earned its spot as the best place to stay in San Juan and I highly recommend it! The delicious restaurants, array of outdoor activities, peaceful pool, and oceanfront bar make it a spectacular resort. The El San Juan Hotel is one of those unique properties that the moment you arrive, you automatically begin to relax.  On top of everything the hotel has to offer, you have the soft sandy beaches, clear blue water, and charming streets of Old San Juan all at your fingertips! This vacation really was the perfect package.

While Kelli and I were there, we spent most of our time at the El San Juan Hotel but ventured out to explore Old San Juan for the day. It is such a unique city with the cobblestone streets, colorful buildings and stunning waterfront views. We wanted to tour Castillo de Morro (a famous 16th Century Citadel), which is one of Puerto Rico’s most popular places to visit, but unfortunately we ran out of time. One of our favorite things we did was take a sunset sail on our last night. This was the perfect way to take in the breathtaking coastline of Old San Juan. (Look for more about our sailing trip in a future post!)

If you’re not familiar with JetBlue Vacations, they provide one-stop-shop vacation planning for destinations throughout the US, Caribbean, Central America and South America. Since you’re booking hotel and airfare, you can expect to earn a good number of true blue points for booking with them. As a St. Simon’s Island resident, the closest international airports are in Jacksonville, FL and Savannah, GA. I love flying out of these airports because they’re smaller, which means fewer hassles and less delays, especially when I fly on JetBlue. They make getting down to the Caribbean and back for a long weekend so easy!

Finally if you are looking for more vacation inspiration, check out our last year’s trip to Turks and Caicos with JetBlue Vacations if you’re dreaming of a caribbean getaway!
