U-Pick Flower Stand With Handmade Charlotte

An Fun Outdoor Activity with the Family

I’m so excited to announce our blogger collaboration with Rachel Faucett from Handmade Charlotte! We’ve teamed up with Rachel and her daughter, Charlotte, to create our first ever craft series! For those of you that are not familiar with Rachel, she is the author and founder of Handmade Charlotte, aka the craft maven! She specializes in kid-friendly recipes, DIY crafts and creative activities for the whole family. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious, and I can’t wait for you to enjoy this series. Today, we’re kicking off this collab with a Flower Stand! Ditch the lemonade stand this summer and offer your neighbors a little something more festive — fresh flowers!

If you follow my Instagram, then you know that I LOVE flowers (and my dog, too). With summer right around the corner, we wanted to bring you a new way to enjoy family time outside. We live in a very active neighborhood — where you constantly see neighbors walking their dogs, kids riding bikes, and golf carts whizzing by — so we thought it would be a great idea to sell fresh stems. It was so much fun setting up with the stand with Charlotte and selling flowers to our neighbors. I may be partial, but I think that she enjoyed it too!

We partnered with our go-to flower gals at The Vine, who provided us with all of the fresh blooms for the stand. They’re actually going to be delivering fresh flowers soon so you don’t have to live in the Golden Isles to have their beautiful blooms in your home. If you are lucky enough to live in an area that has U-Pick farms, then you can make this a real farm-to-stand experience by picking flowers with your kids before setting up the stand. After we gathered all of our flowers, our friends at Viola’s provided us with some great props to display them. We’re loving their vintage baskets, wooden crates, galvanized buckets and watering cans. Of course no stand would be complete without a sign! We teamed up with our Savannah-based calligrapher, Ashley Curry, to add the finishing touches to the stand. And last but not least, Charlotte’s sweet summertime outfit was courtesy of our friends over at Crescent Moon Children.

For our flower stand, we offered a mix of fresh stems, potted plants, large greenery, and even dried lavender. Don’t over think it — just grab whatever assortment of vases, baskets and galvanized buckets that you have around your house. It’s all about creating an experience for your family that they’ll remember for summers to come.

The flower stand was both a fun and easy activity that Charlotte and I really enjoyed. We hope these photos inspire  you to create your own take on a classic lemonade stand!
