Summer Party Essentials

Blackberry Patch Syrups and Schermer Pecans are the Perfect Combination for a Summer Cocktail Party

Well summer is officially here and we’re already in the swing of hosting cocktail parties with our friends to take advantage of these warm summer evenings. I’m sharing the ultimate cocktail party essentials to serve for your next summer soireé!

Blackberry Patch Syrups and Schermer Pecans are the perfect combination to have on hand when entertaining guests. For a refreshing cocktail, you can offer moscow mule three ways — it’s sure to be a crowd pleaser. The recipe for a moscow mule is simple (see below). Just add a tablespoon of blueberry, strawberry or raspberry Blackberry Patch syrups to a traditional moscow mule for your guests! Of course you’ll want to serve a tasty treat along with this. I made these butter brown roasted pecans the other night and they were a major hit! I used a trusted recipe from Southern Living. The saltiness of the pecans goes perfectly with the moscow mule.

The best thing about these Schermer Pecans and Blackberry Patch is that they’re both Georgia companies! Schermer Pecans is celebrating their 70th anniversary this fall, and their pecan trees even date back to the turn of the century. They take pride in the every step of the process, from planting the trees, to shelling the pecans, and making different varieties of candy. My advice would be to buy their pecans in bulk at harvest time, when they are freshest, and store them in the freezer so you can have tasty pecans year round. You can also shop their gift collection, which comes in pretty cloth bags that are perfect to have on hand as a gift. You’ll have to taste them for yourself, but a fresh Georgia pecan is truly something special.

Blackberry Patch was started by two farmers in Thomasville, Georgia. Today they make syrups, jams, ketchup, salsa, and other sauces. They make incredible fruit syrups comprised of only three ingredients: berries, lemon juice, and cane sugar. Their syrups are versatile and can also be used as an ice cream topping, in a smoothie, or drizzled over poundcake. Their products are easy to find, and even sold in Publix. Since they’re one of Oprah’s favorite companies, I’m sure you’ll love them as well!
