Every year Frederica Academy hosts a derby party on Sea Island to help support the local school. Over the past 15 years, this soiree has grown into a a fabulous event filled with raffles, silent auctions, mint juleps, a hat contest, and of course, a showing of the Kentucky Derby. No party would be complete without fabulous food and creative cocktails. They even host a band for an after party to celebrate the end of the race! Needless to say, every year I’m on a hunt for the perfect party dress for this special occasion.

If you’re like me and either headed to the Kentucky Derby or planning to attend a Derby Day party, then I have the perfect dress for you! In case you can’t tell from the pics, I absolutely adored working with the Buddy the horse at the Frederica Stables for this photoshoot. I wish every Lavin Label story involved Buddy since we both had such a wonderful time! Here’s to hoping your derby celebration is as much fun as our photoshoot was!
