Soho South Café

Savannah's Staple for Weekly Lunch and Sunday Brunch

If you’re trying to decide where to eat in Savannah, then you have to go to SOHO South Café. You guessed it—the café is named after the popular New York City neighborhood and incorporates classic New York City design elements into its décor.  Not only is the café is located in the heart of historic downtown Savannah, but the restaurant is also famous for its lunch and Sunday brunch. You couldn’t possibly pick a better place to eat in Savannah!

The space was originally home to an automotive service station in 1945. It was vacant for several years before the original owner renovated it and opened the restaurant in 1997. Then, Daniel Reed Hospitality bought the restaurant and transformed it into the fabulous space that it is today.

The menu features elaborate southern dishes, seafood, sandwiches and more. While the Seared Salmon BLT is one of their most popular dishes, the Durrence Farm Burger is my personal favorite. The courteous and attentive staff certainly adds to the experience. It is also an excellent spot to grab a cocktail.

This eclectic restaurant is beautifully decorated and includes the buildings original steel windows, iron trusses, and solid wooden garage doors. The style is a cross between bohemian and classic southern style, which creates a laid back vibe that puts you at ease. The bright colors and greenery mixed with darker wood creates a great energy that can be felt the moment you walk in the door. Given the exceptional atmosphere, SOHO also hosts a variety of events. They can accommodate many different celebrations, from smaller birthdays and anniversaries to larger weddings and corporate functions. On top of that, they will work with food and beverage to prepare anything from casual hors d’oeuvres, to a fine dining experience that features a six-course dinner. They also use an in-house event coordinator to manage the event and oversee everything for you! When you get the chance, make sure to stop by for an incredible dining experience!
