An Airy Mediterranean Restaurant in Charleston

I love Charleston. I love the history, architecture, shopping and of course the food scene. Every visit I try to choose a restaurant that I haven’t yet experienced — so, on my most recent trip, I stopped at Cannon Green, a light and airy space that houses a facade of an 1840’s old Charleston Single in the dining area. Let’s just say that I’ve never seen any restaurant like it. Yes, I fell in love immediately.

First, Cannon Green is located in the artsy section of the Upper Peninsula. It’s in the same area as my recent posts — Candy Shop VintageThe Ordinary and Xiao Bao Biscuit. Once you enter via the kelly green doors, you’ll head to the hostess stand that resembles something that you’d see in a greenhouse. High ceilings, pop of green accents and the beautiful bar really make you feel most welcome.

Expect simple Mediterranean cuisine that is supplemented with Lowcountry and regional ingredients. Their pastas, breads and curated meats are made in-house. Stop by Cannon Green for dinner or Sunday brunch. They also offer event space with a green lush courtyard — good to know, right? I’m thinking the location for my next birthday party! And, if you’re traveling to Charleston, don’t forget to check out my full Holy City travel guide.
