During the holidays, it’s usually inevitable that our family will gather around for board games in front of the fire. This is when I serve my favorite hot chocolate recipe provided to me by Randi Zeagler from Wake Up Coffee. It’s easy to make — just gather up all of the ingredients, bring to a boil, stir and top with marshmallows.

Ingredients

• Whipping cream
• Whole milk
• Unsalted butter
• Hershey’s cocoa powder
• Pure sugar cane
• Cinnamon stick
• Chocolate chips
• Cayenne pepper

In a large pot, add

• 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
• 3 cups of whole milk
• 1/4 stick of unsalted butter
• 1/4 cup of Hershey’s Cocoa Powder
• 1/2 cup of pure cane sugar
• 1 cinnamon stick
• 1 cup of chocolate chips
• a small pinch of cayenne pepper

Instructions
Bring to a boil and then let simmer. When ready to serve, pour into mug, stir with a cinnamon stick and top with homemade whip cream. Enjoy.
