Outdoor Entertaining Tips

When the leaves start to change color and temps cool down, it’s the perfect time to entertain family and friends outdoors. As the host, follow these three easy tips to create an inviting + cozy backyard gathering.

  1. Offer a signature cocktail that incorporates seasonal ingredients. The classic Moscow Mule is comprised of vodka, ginger beer, lime juice and mint and is traditionally served in a copper mug. Style your ingredients on a serving tray, such as the Saddle Leather Tray or the Fretwork Rim Mirror Tray (shown below). You can even break the recipe down into steps. This way, guests can follow the simple instructions to make their cocktail with ease. Visit Lavin Label for the Moscow Mule cocktail recipe.
  2. Forage for flowers in your own backyard or neighborhood to create a flower arrangement. Gather the wildflowers and place them in a rustic vase that has a good bit of height such as the terra cotta Carolina Vase. When styling a table always think about adding height to draw the eyes.
  3. Light candles to provide a cozy + approachable setting. The Brenner Wood Votive Centerpiece is a great piece to set on your coffee table or place it in your outdoor fireplace. Add succulents, air plants and moss to frame and soften the centerpiece. Light the candles about 15 minutes prior to your guests arriving.

I love what you did here! Very rustic chic. Great money saving ways is to incorporate sangria made with wine from Trader Joes which is my fave! You did a great job. xo Nic
