King and Prince Resort

Oceanfront Resort in St. Simons Island

I don’t know about you but as soon as the holidays are over, I start planning a sunny, beach vacation. After the past couple months of winter, I’m ready for warm temps and poolside cocktails. If the post holiday blues have you dreaming of sunny days, then consider booking a trip to St. Simon’s Island, Georgia this spring. As a resident, I am a bit biased, however this island town has been voted one of America’s 10 best Islands by AOL, Top 10 Island’s in the U.S. by Conde Nast, and America’s Most Romantic Town by Travel and Leisure—just to name a few. I think that once you visit you’ll see that the people, activities and beauty of the Golden Isles is a special environment that you can’t find anywhere else. If you’re planning to visit St. Simons Island and looking for a hotel—then I have the perfect resort for you.

One of my good friends recently got married at the King and Prince Beach and Golf Resort, which is right in the heart of town. The bride and groom exchanged vows on the gorgeous grand lawn, overlooking the beach. On top of it all, the weather was perfect that weekend. Actually, it seems as though the weather here is always wonderful. Even though we head to the King and Prince for special occasions, my husband and I enjoy hanging out and listening to their live music on the weekends. The resort has maintained it’s older charm and is even featured on the National Registrar of Historic Places. They recently completed extensive renovations throughout the property that are definitely a game changer. The energy, artisan cocktails and friendliness of the staff make it a great spot to hang out for locals and travellers alike.

One of my favorite things about this resort is it’s proximity to the beach—as in it’s right on the ocean. The pool overlooks the beach and you relax while ordering drinks at the pool or on the beach. The location of the resort makes it super convenient, and it’s luxury and ocean view are unparalled on SSI.

If you’re hungry then I’d definitely recommend dining at ECHO, the island’s only oceanfront restaurant. I usually order either their ECHO burger (yum), Grouper, or Shrimp and Grits. But you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu!
